Nancy Palmieri, 71, an area resident since 1971 and formerly of the Bronx, died on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Ripi, Italy on October 5, 1942, Nancy was the daughter of Michele and Pasqualina Pullo Faustini. She was a parishioner of St. Denis Church and was devoted to St. Padre Pio. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was an amazing cook.
On September 5, 1959 in Ripi, Italy, Nancy married Aldo Palmieri who survives at home. She is also survived by her children, Rino Palmieri and his wife Marie of LaGrange, Patty Rufino and her husband Frank of LaGrange, and Lora Monteleone and her husband Neil of Old Tappan, NJ; her brothers and sisters, Nino Faustini, Silia Pullo, Giovanni Faustini, and Rose Colatosti; her grandchildren, Anna Palmieri, Christina Janos and her husband Mike, Krystal Rufino, Rocco Palmieri, Fred Monteleone and Nicole Monteleone; her great-grandson, Jayden Janos; and her great-granddaughter to be born in November. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Alvaro Faustini.
Calling hours will be held at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by entombment in Ferncliff Cemetery.
