Anthony Constantine Francis, lovingly known as "Tony" or "Bagga", a 26-year resident of Fishkill, New York, died suddenly at home on Friday, May 15, 2015. He was only 66 years old - still a young man.
Son of the late Reginald C. and Linda (Rowe) Francis, he was born in Kingston, Jamaica on November 12, 1948. He attended Windward Road Primary School in Kingston and then went on to pursue his college education at Durham College of Accounting, also in Kingston.
He came to the United States as a teenager and settled in the Bronx for a number of years until moving to Fishkill, NY in 1989. Anthony worked in the engineering department for Verizon at their facility in Valhalla, NY. He eventually retired in 2002.
He had a great ear for good music and a passion for all genres, but specifically loved listening to island-influenced music such as Reggae and Calypso. He was a very outgoing and sociable individual who loved nothing more than a good time.
Traveling was something that he loved and he would not hesitate to take a road trip. He racked up many miles driving, whether it was to Maryland, Syracuse, Atlanta… You name it, he would find a way!
In 2002, he married Pauline M. Galloway in Fishkill, NY where Mrs. Francis currently survives at home.
Anthony is also survived by two daughters, Cheryl Andrea Francis of Baltimore, MD and Tanya Francis of Syracuse, NY; his son, Kareem Constantine Francis of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Maia, Mikkel, Geno, Tarelle, Tavone, Janay, and Alicia Rochelle; his siblings, Beverly McLean & her husband Rico of Florida, Winston Francis & his wife Maxine of Bronx, NY, Derrick Francis & his wife Benita of Cayman Islands, Roma Brooks & her husband Dalton of Colorado, and Debbie Jarrett & her husband Winston of Florida; his mother-in-law, Monica Crooks of Whithorn, Jamaica; his sisters-in-law, Valerie McIntosh of Kingston, Jamaica and Ouida Black of Montego Bay, Jamaica; also many loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.
May you Rest in Peace and your Spirit now be free.
Anthony Francis, we will all miss you.
