Anthony P. Grodio, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Saturday, June 19th, 2021 in his home with his wife and daughter at his side, at age 70 after a long battle with cancer.
Son of the late Frank and Francis (Fernholz) Grodio, Anthony was born in NYC on March 26th, 1951. On November 3rd, 1973, he married Larraine G. Bollettieri. They have resided in Beekman, NY since 1986.
Anthony was retired after working as a tool & die maker for many years. In his retirement, he and Larraine enjoyed traveling with his brother Frank and sister-in-law Leona to other countries including Thailand, China, Italy, England, Iceland, Mexico and Caribbean Islands, Germany, Switzerland, Holland, and Greece. He was an avid gardener, and regularly shared his garden crops with family and friends. He was also an excellent chef, sharing his creations with his children and friends. He looked forward to beach vacations where he also generously invited family and friends. He will be remembered for his generosity and always being there for his children when they needed his support.
He is survived by his wife Larraine, son Adam Grodio and his wife Sarah of South Carolina, daughter Jessica Grodio-Polasko and her husband John Polasko of Hopewell Junction, NY; his grandchildren include Abby, Adam, and Sadie Grodio, Linnea and Madelyn Sullivan, and John Anthony Polasko.
Wake service will be held at McHoul Funeral Home (895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY) on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 1-5 pm and a Mass will be held in his honor at St. Denis Church (602 Beekman Rd, Hopewell Junction, NY) on Thursday, June 24th at 10 am.
