Obituary

Anthony J. Laverde, 87, a resident of Fishkill for 20 years, died at his home on Tuesday, April 27, 2010. He had formerly resided in Cold Spring, Continental Village, and Yonkers.
Born in Yonkers on February 5, 1923, he was son of the late Agostino and Adelina Politano Laverde. Anthony served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a retired construction superintendent who worked on many projects for Thalle Construction Co., Briar Contracting and Yonkers Contracting. He enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City.
He is survived by his son, Raymond LaVerde & his wife Debra of Garrison; daughter, Lorraine Bottalico & her husband Anthony of LaGrange; grandchildren, Renee DeRiggi & her husband Dino and Jessica, Danielle, & Veronica Bottalico; great-granddaughter, Sophia DeRiggi; sister, Josephine Mezo of Yonkers; brother, Peter Laverde of Yorktown Heights; sister-in-law Alba Laverde of Cortlandt Manor; also many nieces and nephews. Anthony was predeceased by his brother Augustine Laverde.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at the convenience of the family at Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale.
