POUGHKEEPSIE – Anthony Joseph Marcuccilli, 73, an area resident for 30 years, died on October 6, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Anthony was born on September 14, 1948 in the Bronx and grew up in Yonkers. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Anthony retired in 1999 from the City of Yonkers where he was an arborist for over 33 years. An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles.
On December 20, 1990 in Beekman, he married Kathleen (Liberati) Marcuccilli who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Anthony Marcuccilli, Jr. of Cortlandt Manor; his grandchildren, Justin Flores and his wife Elein and Aidan Newell; his great-granddaughter, Aliza; his sister, Judith Bergenson; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bernadette and Robert Hrivnak; his nephew and nieces, William "BJ", Wendy, and Kaitlyn; his close friends, Joann Stephens, Fran Kelly, and Gil Anderson; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lillian (DiMarzo) Marcuccilli; his brother-in-law, William Bergenson; his daughter-in-law, Paula Marcuccilli; and his granddaughter, Alexsandria Flores in 2013.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home followed by burial at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
