Anthony Leonard Pettorossi, a lifelong Beacon resident, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 with his loving wife and children holding his hands at New York Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. He was 54.
Tony was born to the late Leonard and Jean (Lacadie) Pettorossi on June 19th, 1961 in Beacon. He married the love of his life, Carla (Gobbi) Pettorossi, in 1987, and they remained in Beacon to raise their family together.
He was a dedicated employee of Handy Rent-All Center/United Rentals for 35 years. He was a lover of all sports, especially NASCAR, football, baseball, and hockey. One of the greatest joys in Tony's life was helping others before himself. Tony's favorite thing to do was spend time with his family, whether it be at the kitchen table, or proudly watching them do what they love. His kindness, strength, and sense of humor will be remembered by everyone who knew him.
Tony is survived by his wife, Carla, at home in Beacon; his two daughters, Sarah Pettorossi of Manhattan and Juliane Pettorossi of Beacon; his sisters, Karen Soovajian & her husband Deran of Beacon and Suzette Pettorossi of Beacon; his mother-in-law, Louise Gobbi of Saugerties; his brother-in-law Steven Gobbi & his wife Tammy of Georgia; his niece and nephews, Emma & Matthew Woliver of Beacon and Matthew Gobbi of Georgia; and many other loving relatives & friends.
Tony would want everyone to enjoy every minute with family and friends, and to always keep smiling.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 28th at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 29th at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow Street, Beacon. Interment will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery in Beacon.
