STORMVILLE – Anthony Joseph Principe, 81, an area resident for over 40 years, passed on March 9, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center with his wife and two daughters at his bedside.

Born in the Bronx on November 11, 1940, Tony was the son of the late Anthony and Julia (Alousia) Principe. Along with his wife Stephanie, he had been the proud owner of the Pastry Garden Bakery since 1984.

An avid fan of movies, and lover of all animals, Tony was also a proud member of the Republican Party. He also enjoyed traveling and going out to dinner. He will be remembered by all who knew him as an honest and truthful man, with a big heart. He and his wife shared their home with many cats over the years. Most of all, his family came first and he cherished the time he spent with all of them.

In 1986 in Beacon, Tony married Stephanie (Procopis) Principe who survives at home. He is also survived by his daughters, Lisa Laverty and her husband Gary of Newburgh and Lynn Vogel of Myrtle Beach, SC; his grandchildren, Kylian Kemmerer, Juliet Kemmerer, Sarah Guarino, and Melissa Guarino; his son-in-law, Vinny Guarino; Tony's brother, Louis Principe and his wife Jane, daughter Jennifer sister-in-law, Ann Principe and children Joann, Debbie, and Steven, sisters-in-law Phyllis Procopis, and Mary, husband Steve Bremer, Greg and Andrea Procopis; and nephews, Joseph Zoccali , Jacob Procopis, and Jordan Procopis, mother-in-law Grace Procopis, wife of the late Coz Procopis, their son Michael, along with his children Mikey and Diana Procopis.

In addition to his parents, Tony was also predeceased by his first wife, Diann Sandford in 2019 and his oldest daughter, Lori Guarino in 2010.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 – 5 at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 am at the funeral home followed by burial at Clove Cemetery.
