Anthony R. Russo, 78, a lifelong area resident, died on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in the Bronx on April 29, 1935, he was the son of the late Anthony and Clara Ziolkowski Russo. Anthony was a self-employed Real Estate Broker for more than 50 years. He had also worked as a machinist and tool and dye maker. He enjoyed cooking and mowing his lawn. He loved his dogs and was a great puppy sitter.

On March 31, 1973 in Hopewell Junction, Anthony married Elizabeth Marie Ruddy who predeceased him. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Kenny and Kim Russo of Florida, Debbie and Anthony Paesano of Verbank, Dawn Hoover of Monroe, Vicki and Timothy Hennessey of Pleasant Valley, Kenneth and Karen Hoover of Pleasant Valley; 17 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Hoover; and his grandson, Wayne Lee Matthew Stelljes III.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by inurnment at the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
