FISHKILL - Anthony Vilardi, a resident of Clifton Park since 2019 and former resident of Fishkill for nearly 30 years, joined his wife in Heaven on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Seton Hall at Schuyler Ridge Residential Healthcare in Clifton Park. He was 93.
Son of the late Mariano and Josephine (D'Antonio) Vilardi, he was born in Palermo, Italy on April 20, 1928. On November 2, 1947, in Brooklyn, he married Raffaela Rainone, his wife of 72 years, who predeceased him on July 28, 2021. Raffaela and Anthony resided in Lindenhurst, NY for many years prior to moving to the Hudson Valley.
He was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill. Anthony was a self-employed kitchen cabinet manufacturer in Brooklyn and Lindenhurst. He loved horses and was a trainer for harness racehorses. He also enjoyed bowling. More than anything else, Anthony cherished spending time with his family & friends, especially his grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
Anthony is survived by children: his son, Dr. Mario Vilardi (Susan) of Fishkill, his daughter, JoAnn Vilardi of Newburgh, his son, Anthony Vilardi (Lee) of Clifton Park, and his son, Michael Vilardi (Kimberly) of Clifton Park; his grandchildren: Steven Vilardi (Gina), David Vilardi (Louisa), Kristen Vilardi Shanley (Tom), Justin Vilardi (Sandy), Ashlee Vilardi (fiancé Tommy Horgan), Brittany Vilardi, Anthony Vilardi, and Nicholas Vilardi; his great-grandchildren: Hadley, Riley, Mario, Isabella, Keegan, Hayden, Charlie, Sadie and Daniel; his brother, Joseph Vilardi; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives & friends.
Calling hours will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 22 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 23 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will be at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
