Antonina “Tonia” Gibney Campbell, a Fishkill resident since 2009 and formerly of New Windsor and the Town of Newburgh, died suddenly and unexpectedly in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Thursday, July 16, 2015. She was 39.
Born in Cold Spring on December 6, 1975, she was raised in the Town of Newburgh and graduated from The Storm King School in Cornwall. She later earned a bachelor’s degree from American University in Washington, D.C. In 1999, she moved to New Windsor, where she remained for ten years until moving to Fishkill in 2009.
Tonia’s career was dedicated to helping others. She worked as a foster care case manager for the Dutchess County Department of Social Services and substance abuse counselor at Arms Acres in Carmel.
She is survived by her companion, Robert D. Plummer along with their two children, Ruby & Robbie, at home in Fishkill; her mother, Antonina “Toni” W. Caston of Fishkill; her father, Frederick W. Gibney of Clearwater, FL; three brothers, Fredric W. Gibney & his wife Angela of Littleton, MA, Hunter T. Caston of Poughkeepsie, and Matthew H. Caston of Fishkill; her niece & nephews, Sophia C. Caston, Austin A. Caston, Gavin W. Gibney, and Lennox W. Caston; her aunt & uncle, Kathy and John Antonelli of Florida; her cousin, Billy Antonelli of Florida; and many other loving relatives & friends.
She was predeceased by her brother, Michael T. Gibney; her grandparents, Fredric & Catherine Warmers and William & Mary Gibney; and her uncle, Fredric J. Warmers, Jr.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor.
