EAST FISHKILL – Antonio P. Alves, 83, an area resident since 1973 and formerly of Tarrytown, died on July 31, 2024 at his home.

Born in Portugal on January 3, 1940, he was one of nine children of Fernando Silva and Maria Perreira. He was the owner and operator of F. Alves & Sons Painting in Hopewell Junction.

On January 13, 1962 in Tarrytown, Antonio married Frances Volino who survives at home. He is also survived by his son, Anthony Alves and his wife Lawrie, and Michael Alves; his grandsons, Thomas and Anthony; his great-granddaughters, Adelyn and Ava; and his sister Fernanda.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-6pm with a service at 6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Dutchess County SPCA.
