Obituary

Antonio DiPietro, 83, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 20 years and formerly of Mount Vernon, died on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at New York Presbyterian – Columbia University Medical Center.

Born in Guardia di Lombardi, Italy on March 31, 1931, he was the son of Dionisio and Angelina Damiano DiPietro. Antonio was employed as a landscaper for Labriola Landscaping in Scarsdale for 30 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a parishioner of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church in LaGrangeville.

On June 15, 1954 in Italy, Antonio married Antonette Mariconda who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Angelo and Anna DiPietro of Eastchester, Maria and Carlo Marinaro of Hopewell Junction; his grandchildren whom he loved and adored, Luisa and Tommy Oakley, Peter and Emilia Marinaro, Anthony and Ashley DiPietro, Antonio Marinaro, Rosanna Marinaro; and his great-grandchildren, Eddie, Annamae, and Daniel.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
