Arcadio De
Jesus
April 22, 1944 – October 9, 2025
Arcadio "Callín" Sanchez de Cos De Jesus, a longtime Hudson Valley resident, formerly of Ocala, FL Ossining, NY, and Puerto Rico, suddenly passed away Thursday October 9, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born in 1944, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, Arcadio was the son of the late Paulino De Jesus and Bartola Correa. In his early 20s, he relocated to the United States where he met his wife Leyda (neé Rodriguez), marrying July 6, 1968. They not only shared the next 57 years together, but grew a family and planted roots for the generations to come.
Arcadio worked for Metro-North Railroad for more than 30 years, retiring as a Sheetmetal & Pipefitter in 2004. Because he took great interest in learning more about his family lineage, he participated in several genealogy groups and programs. He enjoyed baseball and was a New York Yankees fan. Arcadio also loved to cook and entertain relatives & friends. More than anything else, however, he was a family-oriented individual who cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Leyda, his survivors include his son, Luis A. De Jesus & his wife Imelda of Mexico City, Mexico; his son, Edwin De Jesus of the Bronx; his son, Marvin De Jesus & his wife Stephanie of Kitchener, ON, Canada; his daughter, Maribel Jackson & her husband Franklin of Clayton, NC; his grandchildren: Luis De Jesus, Jr., Jasmin Apollo & her husband Frankie, Jocelyn De Jesus & her husband Victor Ortuño, Kaelee De Jesus, Dylan De Jesus, Evan De Jesus, Ezekiel Duncan, and Franklin Jackson, III; his great-grandchildren: Leilani, Charlotte, Roman, Mya, and Lourdes; his siblings: Juana De Jesus, Higinia Olmeda, Ana Valentino, Juanita De Jesus, Jose De Jesus, and Carlos William De Jesus; as well as many nieces, nephews and countless other family members.
Arcadio was predeceased by his parents as well as his siblings, Angel, Gabriel, and Ricarda; and beloved mother-in-law, Maria Rosario Rodriguez Ramos.
