Arleen Nora Joyce passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on January 31, 2025 at the age of 77. She was born in Manhattan on December 7, 1947 to the late William and Katherine (Vogt) Joyce.
Arleen grew up in High Bridge in the Bronx. She attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and St. Simons Stock High School. She worked as a Medical Records Clerk at Downstate Correctional Facility for 17 years and prior to that, she worked at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx, NY.
Arleen was an avid reader. She was always at the library checking out new books to read. She loved all kinds of animals, especially exotics. She used to have a horse, pet snakes, an iguana and a baby alligator when she was a kid! She enjoyed listening to oldies music, going to Farmer's Markets and watching the birds from her dining room window but she always had the most fun when she was spending time with her friends and family, especially her nieces and nephews.
Arleen is survived by her beloved partner of 32 years, George Clements; her sister Cathy Kalinski of Wappingers Falls, NY; her brother John Joyce and his wife Cathy of Winter Springs, Florida; her nephew Michael Joyce of New Orleans, LA; her niece, Allison Burnham and her husband Eric of Queens, NY, her nephew Christopher Kalinski and his wife Heather of Fishkill, NY; her niece Kerri Hassan, her husband Corey and her great-nieces Addilyn and Payton of Holly Springs, NC, as well as many close friends.
She was predeceased by her brother-in-law William Kalinski.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Thursday February 6th, 2025 from 1-4 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main St. Fishkill, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday February 7th, 2025 at 10 am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church 106 Jackson St. Fishkill, followed by inurnment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
