Arline Morozuk, a longtime resident of Westchester County, died Jan. 22, 2021, after suffering a stroke.
Arline was born March 22, 1927, in Barre, Vermont, to Merton and Blanche Eastman. She moved with her family to Armonk as a young child. She attended Pleasantville High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society and the school orchestra. She graduated in 1945.
Arline attended Syracuse University on a nursing scholarship. She would later pursue a career with the New York Telephone Co. where she worked in the Mount Kisco and Carmel offices. During her career, she served as president of the local chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a volunteer organization that was involved in community projects.
She married Paul Morozuk on Aug. 28, 1948, at The Church of St. John and St. Mary in Chappaqua. The couple resided in Armonk before moving to Purdys in 1959.
After working for New Telephone Co. for 24 years, she worked for several years as a patient registrar clerk at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco.
She was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Church in Croton Falls where she was an organist.
After retiring, she and her husband moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, where she was active in the community. After the death of her husband in 2005, she continued to remain active in the community before moving to Dutchess County in 2016.
Arline was also predeceased by her daughter, Marilyn, and son, Michael, as well as her sister, June Massoni, and brother, Elwood Eastman.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia Fisher of New Hampshire; her daughters, Laura Rozycki of Wappingers Falls, Jeanne Head of Wingdale, Karen Moran of Florida; as well as her son, Daniel Morozuk of White Plains; and seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is expected to be held in the fall.
