Arthur J. Brienza, son of Arthur and Phylis Brienza, of Beacon, NY, the beloved Award-Winning Florist of Quint's Florist in Copley Square, a fixture in Boston for many years, passed peacefully into his eternal rest on December 27, 2024, at the age of 88. Arthur's career as a florist was defined by his creativity and artistry, earning him numerous awards throughout his life. His immeasurable talents brought beauty and elegance to countless occasions, leaving behind a legacy of artistry that touched the lives of everyone who crossed his path.
In retirement, Arthur continued to spread joy and comfort in his community by working as the florist for Newton-Wellesley Hospital, where his arrangements were a source of solace for many patients. His work touched lives far beyond his professional career, as his kindness, generosity, and great sense of humor made him a beloved figure to all who knew him.
Arthur was a proud graduate of SUNY Long Island Agriculture and Technical Institute at Farmingdale, and honorably served in the United States Army. His love for his country, his family, and his friends remained steadfast throughout his life.
He is pre-deceased by his dear friend and business partner, Anthony Grassia, who passed in 2002.
Arthur is survived by his loving sister Diana C. Frank, of Poughkeepsie, NY, and her children, Linda Goff (Edward), of Lenox, MA; Karen McGannon (Dennis), of Mohegan Lake, NY; Larry Grella (Teresa), of Beacon, NY; and Phyllis Grella, of Poughkeepsie, NY. In addition to his family, Arthur is survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom cherished him deeply. He is also survived by his dear, dear friend, Judy Green of Waltham, MA.
Arthur's ability to bring beauty into the world was matched only by his warmth and humor, which left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will endure in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by our sweet Arthur.
