Arthur Edward Hoffman, Jr., 72, a resident of Shelton, CT since 1996 and formerly of Yorktown Heights, died on Friday, July 8, 2011 at Bridgeport Hospital.
Born in New Rochelle on July 2, 1939, he was the son of Arthur and Florence Greers Hoffman. He was employed as a Civil Engineer for Malcolm Pirnie in White Plains until his retirement in 2001. Arthur was a parishioner of St. Lawrence Church in Shelton and was an avid golfer and bowler.
On February 12, 1962 at Holy Family Church in New Rochelle, Arthur married Lorraine Lachmann who predeceased him on June 18, 1992. He is survived by his fiancé, Maureen Potter of Shelton, CT; his son, Randy Hoffman (Metro North employee), wife Jackie and their children, Richie and Heather of Stormville, NY; and Maureen's family, Lori and Kalil Boghdan and their children, Cody and Max of Cape Cod, MA, Stacy and Mike Iapaluccio and their children, Michaela and Jackson of Danbury, CT, and Scott and Mariah Potter of California.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 1 – 3 and 5 -8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11 am at Hillside Cemetery in Peekskill, NY. A Memorial Mass in celebration of Arthur's life will be held at a later date at St. Lawrence Church in Shelton, CT.
