Obituary

Arthur LaTempa, 74, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 18 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in the Bronx on October 31, 1935, he was the son of Nicholas and Vivian Bradley LaTempa. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was employed by the City of New York Sanitation Police for 23 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.
On August 8, 1954 in the Bronx, Arthur married Carol Volante who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Michael LaTempa and his wife Linda of LaGrange and Joan DiPietrantonio and her husband Dom of Yorktown Heights; his daughter-in-law, Trish LaTempa of Montgomer; his sister, Florence Devenuto of Yorktown; his grandchildren, Christina, Anthony, James, Lisa, Michael, Joey and James; and his great-grandson, Anthony. He was predeceased by his son James LaTempa in 1996 and his sister Joan Laquidara in 2009.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
