Audrey H. MacLean, a Fishkill resident since 1992, formerly of Warwick and Queens, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Saturday, October 26, 2013. She was 87.
Daughter of the late Richard and Helen (Doorley) Prager, she was born in Brooklyn on July 7, 1926. After graduating from high school, she trained at the Metropolitan Opera in Manhattan.
On June 26, 1948, she married Victor MacLean at St. John's Church in New York City. Audrey was predeceased by her husband on May 19, 1995.
A communicant of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, she served on the Parish Council and volunteered as a Eucharistic Minister. Audrey was also very active with the board at Fox Ridge Condominiums, where she was Vice President for 17 years until 2012.
Survivors include her son, John MacLean (Mary) of Croton; her daughter, Audrey Clair (Mike) of Hawaii; her son, Brian MacLean (Kathy) of Connecticut; her daughter, Claire Fenner (John) of North Carolina; her son, Raymond MacLean (Jan) of New Hampshire; her son, James MacLean (Mary) of Katonah; her daughter, Grace Pataky (Steve) of California; her daughter, Patricia Tremblay (James) of Massachusetts; her daughter, Karen Blancq (Kevin) of New York City; 24 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Audrey was also predeceased by two infant sons, her daughter Virginia MacLean, as well as two sisters, Catherine Arco and Sr. Helen Edward, and a brother, Richard Prager.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
