Obituary

Barbara Anne Dickinson, 58, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 31 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Putnam Hospital Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on August 13, 1951 in the Bronx, she was the daughter of Frank and Fran Culligan Fallon of Poughkeepsie. She was a 1969 graduate of Cathedral High School in Manhattan and was employed as a bus driver for the Wappingers Central School District for 20 years until her retirement in 2006. Barbara was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.
On December 2, 1972 at St. Philip and James Church in the Bronx, she married Michael J. Dickinson who survives at home. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her children Heather Anne Rivera and husband Carlos of Londonderry, NH, Matthew Dickinson and wife Sarah of Staatsburg and Michael F. Dickinson of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Makayla, Emily, Elora and Gabriel; her sisters, Christine Riedinger of Red Hook, Patricia Penston of Tivoli, Eileen Mahoney of Poughkeepsie and Nancy Collyer of Livingston, MT; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or the human charity of your choice. Barbara also desired for people to donate blood and platelets to local blood banks.
