Barbara Fermicola, 82, a Dutchess County resident for over 30 years, died on August 24, 2025 at her granddaughter's home in Middleburgh. She previously lived in Westchester County and the Bronx.

Born in New York City on June 12, 1943, Barbara was the daughter of the late Susan DeMay. She retired as dispatcher from the City of New York HPD.

On April 23, 2008, she married Michael Anthony Fermicola who predeceased her in 2023. They had been together since 1980. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Clifford and her husband Joseph; her son, James Bowen and his wife Lisa; her grandchildren, Joseph Clifford, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, April Hillje and her husband Donald, William Biersack, and Samantha, Mikayla, and Emily Bowen; her great-grandchildren, Henry, Roland, and Arthur; her sister-in-law, Patricia DeMay; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and mother, Barbara was also predeceased by her siblings, Francis DeMay and John DeMay.

Barbara was full of life and lit up every room she walked in to. She was devoted to her family who she loved tremendously.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 28th from 5 - 9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29th at 12 pm at the funeral home followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery,
