Barbara Garofalo's Obituary
Barbara Marie Garofalo, nee Marshall, 91, died May 4, 2023 at home.
Born on January 16, 1932, she was the daughter of Alice Marie (Glover) Marshall and Harold O. Marshall. She graduated from AB Davis High School in Mt.Vernon, NY and spent many summers in Wurtsboro, NY. Barbara worked as a secretary at Union Carbide in Manhattan until her marriage to Russell R. Garofalo on June 27, 1959.
Barbara and Russ resided in Mt. Kisco, NY where she enjoyed raising her family, playing tennis, gardening, impressionist paintings, and traveling. They moved to Hopewell Junction, NY when Russ retired in 1999, and visited the sites in the Hudson Valley.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Lisa Garofalo, grandchildren Alyssa Fowle and Brendan Gerety, and cousin, Nancy Glover. She was predeceased by her son, Glenn Marshall Garofalo in 1983, and her husband, Russell in 2019.
She will be interned in the Columbarium at the Presbyterian Church in Mt.Kisco, NY which Barbara and Russ were instrumental in founding in memory of their son.
