Barbara C. Harrington, 78, a resident of Fishkill since 1972 and formerly of Mahopac, died on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Northern Dutchess Hospital.
Born in Manhattan on November 23, 1935, she was the daughter of Bernard and Matilda Laemmle Carvlin. Barbara was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Barbara is survived by her children and their spouses, Theresa and Jeffrey Melvin of Rhinebeck, David C. and Heidi Harrington of Atlanta, GA, Gregory and June Harrington of Chevy Chase, MD; her grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney and Caitlin Melvin, Dillon Archer Harrington, James and Lauren Harrington; her sister, Catherine Donegan of Lithia, FL; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Harrington on January 16, 1999; and her brother, David Carvlin.
The family would like to thank Dr. Scaduto, Dr. Levine, Andria Guzi NP, and the nurses and staff at Northern Dutchess Hospital for their compassionate care.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30am at the funeral home followed by interment in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
