Barbara Renzo's Obituary
Barbara "Bobbi" Renzo, a Fishkill resident for 48 years, formerly of Poughkeepise, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Sunday, November 18, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 69.
Daughter of the late John and Eleanor Mozdzierz Potocki, she was born in Detroit, MI on August 26, 1943. On August 15, 1964, she married Vincent S. Renzo at St. Joseph's Church in Poughkeepsie.
In 2009, Bobbi retired as a Registered Nurse at Castle Point V.A. Medical Center, where she had worked for 23 years. A member of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill for 48 years, she was also active with St. Mary's School, where she served as Librarian and School Nurse. As a Girl Scout Leader, Bobbi avidly supported the organization, especially by organizing the annual campout at Sharpe Reservation in Fishkill for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent S. Renzo at home; her son, James Renzo of Fishkill; three daughters, Maria Laderach & her husband Christopher of Poughkeepsie, Dena Accomazzo & her husband Thomas of Wethersfield, CT, and Veronica Renzo of Fishkill; her grandchildren, Roxanne Renzo, Ian & Sophia Laderach and Gabriel Accomazzo; and her brother, Thomas Potocki & his wife Judy of Poughkeepsie. Bobbi is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson, 3 Neptune Rd., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 / www.girlscoutshh.org or The Fresh Air Fund (at Sharpe Reservation), 633 Third Avenue, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10017 / www.freshair.org.
