EAST FISHKILL – Barbara Elizabeth Scampoli, 80, died peacefully on October 12, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in the Bronx on December 5, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth (Testa) Willson. Barbara was a parishioner of St. Columba Church. As a young woman, she was a talented dancer who spent time dancing with the USO, supporting our military personnel. She loved crocheting, jewelry making, watching true crime stories and rodeos. But more than anything in this world, Barbara loved spending time with her 14 grandchildren. Whether it was a phone call or crafting, Barbara had a connection with each one. She lit up with the mere mention of any one of them.

On October 14, 1972, in the Bronx, Barbara married the love of her life, William Scampoli, who survives at home. She will be missed dearly by her three children and their spouses, William and Meghan Scampoli, Gina and Carter Boalt, Maria and Greg Duffy and John Smith whom she loved as her own child; her grandchildren, Brittany, Carter Jr, William, Lowell, Mason, Benjamin, Mae, Rose, Samuel, Hope, Madalyn, Emily, Shannon and John; her sisters, Mary Nichols and Patty Stone; and several nieces and nephews. She is loved and will be missed by all.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 11:30am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
