Stormville – Barbara Whitney, 77, an area resident since 1972 and formerly of Mount Vernon, NY, died on August 2, 2018 at Vassar Brother Medical Center.

Born in Mount Vernon on June 1, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Vera (Triano) Colarusso. Barbara had worked in the Medical Records Department for the State of New York at Green Haven Correctional Facility for many years. She was a member of the Stormville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed gardening and a wide variety of arts and crafts such as knitting and ceramics.

On April 29th 1962 in Mount Vernon, Barbara married Donald H Whitney who survives at home. She was also survived by children Donna Whitney and David Whitney and his wife Edna; her grandchildren, Isabella and Maxwell; her siblings, Marie Mahnken, Jerry Colarusso and Alfred Colarusso; and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service at 7:30pm.
