Beatrice Mary Burke, 85, of East Fishkill since 1962 and formerly of the Bronx, died on Friday, July 26, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh.

Born in the Bronx on September 24, 1927, she was the daughter of George and Beatrice LaCour Wolf. Babe was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction. She was independent and a source of strength. Babe was happy in her home with her little dog Blue. Mom's home was the place for family gatherings which will be greatly missed. She enjoyed reading and watching old movies, but she especially loved spending time with her family. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

On June 19, 1948 at Holy Cross Church in the Bronx, Babe married John “Jack” Burke who predeceased her on July 15, 1997. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Rita and Bruce Brannen of Beacon, John and Mary Burke of Fishkill, Mary and Jiri Pivonka of Cornwall, Eileen and Jim Miccio of Fishkill, Edmund and Michele Burke of West Newburyport, MA; her grandchildren, Matthew and Kirstin Burke, Regina and Matthew Leary, Colin and Jessica Brannen, Kevin Brannen, Ayn Pivonka, Kaitlyn Miccio, Evan, Vivian and Seamus Burke; her great-grandsons, David and Thomas Karol Burke; and her brother, George Wolf and his wife Dorothy of Westbury.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
