BEACON – Beatrice Pauline Fisher, 81, a resident of Beacon, formerly of Poughquag, where she lived her entire life, died at the Wingate at Beacon on Friday, April 15, 2011.
Beatrice was a 27 year member of the Sylvan Grange #825, Dutchess County Pomona Grange, the NY State Grange, and the National Grange.
She and her husband Joseph enjoyed traveling and watching the fall foliage. She loved to garden and read.
Beatrice was employed as an Inspector at the Lumilite Corporation in Pawling until her retirement in 1962.
Born in the Town of Beekman on March 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Augustus and EllaMae Dorn Baker. Beatrice and her brother Henry Baker grew up with their grandparents on Dorn Road in Poughquag. She attended Beekman School #5.
On October 12, 1957,s he married Joseph E. Fisher at St. John's Church in Pawling. Mr. Fisher predeceased her on May 22, 2010.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Ann Fisher and Pamela Beth Fisher, both of Hopewell Junction, and Janet K. Mock and her husband Frank N. Mock, Jr. of Poughkeepsie; her brother, Henry Baker of Poughquag; her sister, Liz Baker of Elk Grove, CA; two nephews, Gus and Robert; her niece, Addie; and three great nieces, 2 great nephews, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her nephew Douglas Baker.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service officiated by Rev. James Wickstead will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home followed by interment at Clove Cemetery.
