Bernard D'Aleo, 86, an area resident for 50 years and formerly of Peekskill, died on December 23, 2018 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. Bernard was dedicated to his family and friends, and will be forever missed.
Born in the Bronx on August 29, 1932, Bernard was the son of Frank and Mary (Santomauru) D'Aleo. On June 10, 1961 in Peekskill, Bernard married the love of his life, Carol Gallagher who predeceased him on February 2, 2017.
Bernard proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked in the gas department for Consolidated Edison in Buchanan, NY until his retirement on September 1, 1993.
Bernard loved spending time at his home in Rhode Island and being at the beach.
Bernard is survived by his children, Jeffrey D'Aleo and his wife, Michelle of LaGrangeville, Lisa Gilman of Fishkill and Steven D'Aleo and his wife, Tammy of Red Hook; his grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Katy, Peter D'Aleo, Christiana and Kailey Gilman; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held at 8pm. Burial will be private at St. Denis Cemetery.
