Beverly A. Gunther, 75, an area resident since 1968 and formerly of Staten Island, died on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Archcare at Ferncliff Nursing Home.
Born in Manhattan on August 22, 1938, she was the daughter of Jonathan U. and Beatrice M. Armstrong Roe. Beverly had been employed as a deli clerk for Stop & Shop in Wappingers Falls and was a member of the Hopewell Reformed Church. On December 19, 2013, Beverly was one of the first recipients of Archcare's "Mission on the Move". She was treated to a limousine ride to the Empire State Building, followed by a tour which included the Observation Deck and then lunch. It was an amazing trip for Bev and her brother.
Beverly is survived by her sons, James F. Gunther III and his wife Terrie of El Paso, TX, Jonathan A. Gunther and his wife Tami of Corydon, IN and Jeffrey A. Gunther and his wife Cheryl of Gaylord, MI; her brother, Bernard A. Roe and his wife Peggy of Wappingers Falls; and her grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jordan, Brenden, Charissa and Kallie. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Courtney.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction with Rev. Keith Tamlyn of the New Hackensack Reformed Church officiating.
