Obituary

FISHKILL – Beverly Gaughran Pinchbeck, aged 66, died as she had hoped on Christmas morning, December 25, 2021. She had fought a long and courageous battle with cancer for years. Beverly died at home, having received a stream of loved ones and friends in the last weeks of her life.

Born in Port Chester on June 8, 1955, Beverly was the daughter of the late Frank and Nellie (Keeler) Henderson. In 1967 her mother married the late Bernard Gaughran, who adopted Beverly and her sister Priscilla. With that a family of two parents and four girls was born. Beverly graduated from SUNY New Paltz and received a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work from Teachers College – Columbia. Beverly was an enthusiastic member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority in her college years before she focused on graduate training and career development.

In 2001 Beverly and her husband Howard became the proud parents of Janelle, a gifted artist, now a junior at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. Janelle was the light of her life.

As a psychotherapist, Beverly dedicated her life to empowering and helping others with life challenges through her clinical practices, which were located in Rockland County, Yorktown and particularly through her affiliation with Westchester Talk Therapy in Mahopac, New York.

Beverly loved traveling worldwide, made connections with people anywhere she found herself. Curious and gregarious, she loved learning new cultures and languages. Beverly also adored music, fashion and beauty for its own sake.

Beverly is survived by her best beloved daughter Janelle; her honorary son Henry, her sisters, Priscilla Gaughran Morton, Jane Gaughran Behan and husband Ted, and Julie Gaughran; her nieces and nephews, Brett, Taylor, Bonnie, Sally, Eamon, and Whit; and her grand niece Ava. She was "Grandma Pinchbeck" to Aaron Haughton as well.

Services will be held virtually at the Peekskill Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 1st. 2022. The Zoom ID number is 846 695 5981. There is no passcode.
