Biagino "Benny" DiDonato, 72, a resident of the Town of East Fishkill since 1993, formerly of Carmel and Yonkers, died at Putnam Hospital Center on Wednesday, July 28, 2010.
For over 30 years, Biagino worked for Thalle Construction in Briarcliff Manor until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction and the Sons of Italy Joe DiMaggio Lodge #2248. He was an avid hunter and loved working around the house. He was loved, admired and respected by everyone.
Born in Italy on February 3, 1938, he was son of the late Giovanni and Concetta Palumbo DiDonato. In 1967, he married Elisa DiLullo in Italy. Mrs. DiDonato survives at home.
Biagino is also survived by two sons, John DiDonato & his wife Angela of LaGrangeville and Dominick DiDonato & his wife Constance of Wappingers Falls; his brother, Ralph DiDonato & his wife Maria of Bronxville; his sister-in-law, Camilla Rosati of Mt. Laurel, NJ; his grandchildren, whom Biagino loved profoundly, John Biagino, Francesca, Elisa, and Benjamin; also many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was predeceased by a sister and two brothers.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Entombment will follow in the Community Mausoleum at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
