HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Bibi Zainool Persaud, 79, an area resident for 23 years, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center after a thirteen year courageous battle with cancer. She formerly lived in Florida, Schenectady, and Yonkers.

Born in Guyana, South America on April 3, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Hydar and Fatima Khan. On July 1, 1954 in Guyana, she married Jagdeo Persaud who predeceased her on January 24, 2004.

Bibi is survived by her children, Stephen Persaud and his wife Colleen of Poughkeepsie, Kamil Persaud and his wife Kellawatty of Peekskill, Hazel Lokie and her husband Ram of Schenectady, Kem Persaud and his wife Sattie of West Palm Beach, FL, Jinnet Joseph and her husband Trevor of Hopewell Junction, Cheddie Persaud and his wife Shelly of Yonkers, and Kenrick Jagdeo Persaud of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Sean Persaud, Timothy Persaud, Bobby Persaud and his wife Kenya, Mark Persaud and his wife Crystal, Christopher Persaud and his fiancée Cassie, Sabrina Lokie and her husband Ken, Samantha Lokienough and her husband Vigay, Anthony Lokie, Suzie Persaud and her husband Kevin, Kenny Ray Persaud, Liza Marie Joseph, Jessica Bishun and her husband Daniel, Kevin Persaud and his wife Christine, and Michael Persaud; her great-grandchildren, Anjali, Aaliyah, Kaylee, Isabella, Maya, Navide, Victoria, Krishna, and Arjay; and her aide who helped take care of her, Maria Fista.

The family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Hudson Valley Hematology and Oncology in Fishkill.

Calling hours will be held on Friday 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10 am at the funeral home followed by procession to the crematory at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
