Obituary

FISHKILL – Bill Jack Hoyt, 85, died on July 27, 2016 in Ridgecrest, CA. He lived in Fishkill since 2000 and previously lived in Wappingers Falls.

Born in Saginaw, MI on April 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Earl and Eva (Gubbins) Hoyt. Bill proudly served in the US Marine Corps 1952 -1954. He had been employed by IBM for over 35 years until his retirement in 1990.

Bill was a member of the New Hackensack Reformed Church in Wappingers Falls where he played softball and served as an Assistant Scout Leader for Troop 56. Bill, an Eagle Scout, enjoyed the outdoors, especially competitive shooting, deer hunting, hiking, and camping. He was a member of the Grasshopper Flying Club at Dutchess County Airport and the Dutchess County Pistol Association.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Linda Curry (David) of Inyokern, CA; his daughter-in-law, Pamela Hoyt of Verbank; his grandchildren, Jason Curry of Carson City, NV, Rebecca and Joshua Curry of Inyokern, CA, and Kaitlin, Jared and Christian Hoyt of Verbank; and his sister, Ester Egbert (Kenneth) of Saginaw, MI. Bill was predeceased by his first wife, Elaine Hoyt; his second wife, Marion Crook Hoyt; and his son, David Hoyt.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Burial will be on Saturday at 10 am at Fishkill Rural Cemetery followed by the funeral service at 11 am at the New Hackensack Reformed Church, 1580 Route 376, Wappingers Falls.
