POUGHKEEPSIE – Blanche C. Luft, 84, an area resident since 2003, died peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She previously lived in Tuckahoe.

Born in Queens on June 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late James and Amy (Brundage) Byrne. In 1949, in Port Chester, Blanche married Jerome Luft who predeceased her on August 9, 1992.

Blanche, affectionately known as GG, will forever be remembered by her loving family including her daughters, Barbara Quatrocci and her husband Anthony of Yonkers, Joy Luft of Poughkeepsie, and Janice Gornie of Davenport, Florida; her daughters-in-law, Ellen Manley Luft and Alice White Luft; her 14 grandchildren; her 21 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sons, Clifford Luft in 1999 and Kenneth L. Luft in 2010.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10 am at St. Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
