Brian Scott Smallhorn passed away on January 13, 2026, at NY Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was 68 years old. Brian was born on May 22, 1957, in Tarrytown, New York, to the late Charles and Ruth (Purdy) Smallhorn.
On August 23rd, 1980, Brian married his high school sweetheart, Susan DiLonardo, at Saint Patrick's Church in Yorktown Heights.
Together, they shared 45 loving years of marriage, building a life rooted in devotion, family, and enduring love.
Brian proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a proud veteran.
He went on to build a successful career as a Senior Manager at IBM, working in ITD Unix and Intel Services.
A devoted coach and active community member, Brian spent more than 15 years coaching East Fishkill Baseball and also shared his time coaching St. Columba C.Y.O. Basketball. He found great joy in fishing, serving proudly as President of the Black Rock Bass Fishing Club in New Windsor. He was also an avid golfer and gardener, and remained a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings. His love of football also inspired him to serve as the devoted commissioner of his fantasy football league.
Above all else, Brian was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished time spent with his family and found his greatest happiness in being together and creating lasting memories.
Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Smallhorn, their three sons: Brian C. Smallhorn and his wife Amber, Stephen V. Smallhorn and his wife Katherine, and Michael J. Smallhorn and his wife Abigail, his cherished grandchildren, Adriana, Talia, Bennett, and Summer Rose, his siblings Kevin Smallhorn and his wife Maureen, and Robin Smallhorn, his mother-in-law, Rae DiLonardo, as well as many nieces and nephews, and their treasured dog, Lola.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, New York.
