Brian R. Smith, a local area resident since 1987 and formerly of California, died on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne. He was 67.
Son of Wilbur "Red" and Vivian (Riggs) Smith, he was born in San Jose, CA on October 18, 1951. For 20 years, Brian worked as a computer operator for Dutchess County, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed camping with his camping trailer. Brian also enjoyed cars and cherished his 1949 Chevy Pickup, which he rebuilt and restored.
On October 10, 1992, he married Linda Hickman at the Fishkill United Methodist Church. Linda survives at home in Beacon.
Brian is also survived by his son, Joshua Smith & his wife Kelly of Glenham; his granddaughter, Emma Sophie; and his sister, Linda Thomas of California.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, November 4 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. Interment will be held privately at Rombout Cemetery in Fishkill.
