Brian L. Strock, 59, a resident of Rensselaer since 2009 and formerly of Albany and Binghamton, died on December 12, 2021, at Westchester Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Born in California in 1962, he was the son of Frank Strock and the late Sharon Strock who died in 2020.
Brian graduated from Central Baptist Christian Academy in 1980 and had attended Grace Baptist Church in Binghamton. He had been employed by New York State Parks Department for 13 years where he made many friends with his ability to show people the joy in the little things. He was appreciated for his timelessness, miscellaneous knowledge, and vocabulary. He could finish a crossword puzzle like no other and tried out for Jeopardy a few times. He was also a gifted pianist and a friend had taught him to play the guitar.
In addition to his father, Brian is also survived by his sister, Becky and her husband Bill of Rensselaer County; his brother, Joel of Dutchess County; his sister, Joanne and her husband David and their children of Virginia as well as numerous cousins all over the US. Brian leaves behind several wonderful friends, Patrick R., Lyle H. and Gary G., that will miss him dearly.
The family would like to convey their appreciation to the Westchester Medical Center Burn Unit and LiveOnNY, the donor organization. Their comfort and care during our family's time of need was truly amazing.
