Bridget Doherty, 76, a resident of Hopewell Junction for 13 years and formerly of Yonkers, died on Friday, July 9, 2010 at her home.
Born on November 20, 1933 in Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Denis and Bridget Hanafin. Bridget was a parishioner of St. Columba Church and a member of the Kevin Barry Irish Club.
On April 19, 1958 in Yonkers, Bridget married Anthony Doherty who predeceased her on August 14, 2004. She is survived by her son Andrew Doherty and her daughter-in-law Judy of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Andrew Anthony, Brandon James, Kelli Leigh, Michael Charles, Theresa Ann and Matthew Robert; her great-grandchildren, Michael and Aubrey; her siblings, Chris DeCoursey and Eileen McCrohen; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the World Wildlife Fund or Dutchess County SPCA.
