POUGHKEEPSIE - Bruce Ferguson, 54, a lifelong area resident died on Friday, November 29, 2013 at home.

Born in Ellenville, New York on July 1, 1959, he was the son of the late Robert E. Ferguson and Joyce Adeline Brown Zitz. He married Charlene Anderson on March 26, 1994 in Wappingers Falls, New York. In 2010, he retired from the New York State Department of Corrections after twenty-five years of service.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlene, and his son, Jonathan Ferguson; his mother, Joyce A. Zitz; his siblings, Clark R. Ferguson and his wife, Evelyn, of Pawling and Cindy Kinney and her husband, Everett, of Maine; Bruce is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Special thanks to his cousin Linda Baker, his brother Clark and Evelyn Ferguson, Sandy and Charles Passarotti, Lisa Taylor and Billy Brosnan, Jessica and Jeffrey Pelletier, Linda Picciano, Danny and Dale Emerson, Larry Taylor and his second family at Greenhaven.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 2nd from 2 - 4 and 6 - 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3rd at the Funeral Home, Inc.
