EAST FISHKILL – Bruno J. Zipprich, 83, a resident of Hillside Lake since 1960, died on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Germany on March 23, 1931, he was the son of the late Goldene and Ludwig Zipprich. On September 21, 1958 at St. Mary's Church in Poughkeepsie, Bruno married Johanna (Bauer) Zipprich who predeceased him on February 17, 2014.
Bruno was employed by Schatz Federal Bearing Company in Poughkeepsie, and later for Texaco in Glenham. Bruno was a hard worker from the day he arrived in this country until his passing. He was a member of the Union Vale Seniors and enjoyed his friends there. Bruno enjoyed his home and loved his "lawn". He'd often be seen mowing the lawn with his cigar in his mouth. He and Mom also had a love for the Birds, feeding and watching gave them pleasure.
Bruno is survived by his children, Bruno A. Zipprich Jr. and his wife Connie of San Antonio, TX, Heidi Morgan and her husband Jeffrey of Hopewell Junction, Helga Mead and her significant other Steven Zula of AZ, and John Zipprich of Albuquerque, NM; his grandchildren, Michael J. Morgan and his wife Susanne of Wappinger Falls, and LCPL Thomas C. Morgan, USMC currently stationed in Northwest Annex in Chesapeake VA; his great-grandsons, Joey Angot and Trent Morgan; his cousin, Edgar Zipprich and his wife Diane; and his dear friends, Linda and Stewart Steffensen.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
