Carl Gervasi, 75, Bronx Businessman
A true patriarch and friend to many, Carl Anthony Gervasi, 75, of LaGrangeville, NY, passed after a long illness Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie under hospice care.
A native of the Bronx, he was owner and operator of Boston Road Tires for more than 40 years, where he employed numerous family members and friends in the car care business. He was born to Anthony and Florence Gervasi and is survived by his wife, Zoraida, and four daughters; Annettemarie DiMuro of Highland, NY; Gina McCauley and her husband, Joe of Charlotte, NC; Carla Gervasi and Steve Shkreli of LaGrangeville; Carly Padilla and her husband, David of Charlotte, NC; sisters Marguerite Gaitan and Toni Marie Rodriguez, both of Yonkers; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, and his son, George Joseph Donato.
He served in the U.S. Army and attended Bedford Park Academy in the Bronx. He was a friend of many members of the NYPD, and his was a successful Bronx Business for many years. A true family man, he was a hunter, a baseball player, Little League coach and horseback rider. He had a great love for food, boating and old cars. Carl was a pigeon fancier, maintaining a coop at his business on Boston Road and Paulding Ave, where his birds could often be seen entertaining the neighborhood.
Those who loved him knew you could always count on Carl. He was always available when a family member or friend was ill or in trouble. He will be greatly missed.
Family and friends are invited to gather at a Memorial Mass on Tuesday, October 25th at 10:30 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church located at 670 Yonkers Ave, Yonkers, NY 10704. Burial immediately following at Woodlawn Cemetery 4199 Webster Ave, The Bronx, NY 10470.
