Carla Jean Abarno, 68, formerly of Peekskill, NY, passed away peacefully at her home at New Horizons, Union Vale on Friday, November 29, 2024.

Born September 9, 1956 in Washington, DC to Charles and Doris Abarno, Carla lived an amazing life. She graduated high school from The Kennedy Institute and spent many years volunteering at Children's Hospital in Washington. With the help of friends and family, she traveled to Disney World and took several cruises.

After moving to NY, she lived semi-independently for 17 years and worked at a Westchester ARC before choosing to "retire". In retirement, she enjoyed living with her friends at Cardinal McCloskey Community Services in Cortlandt Manor and then new Horizons Resources in Union Vale.

Carla was particularly happy to spend time with sister, Sharon Abarno McArtin, and her beloved nephews, Alex McArtin and Andrew McArtin, and her "niece-in-law", Carla McArtin.

Carla will be inurned with her parents at Arlington National Cemetery.
