Carmela Carassone passed away on November 15, 2025 at Putnam Hospital at the age of 84. She was born on November 2, 1941 in Manhattan to the late Paul and Rose (Catalano) Vasapolli.

Carmela was a loving mother and grandmother with a wonderful sense of humor who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. She loved to travel, go shopping, cook (she made the best chicken soup!), and take care of her plants and garden.

She is survived by her son Paul Carassone and his wife Elly, and her granddaughters Briana and Bella Carassone.

She was predeceased by her son Peter Carassone.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday November 18, 2025 from 5-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill 1089 Main St. Fishkill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday November 19, 2025 at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church 106 Jackson St. Fishkill, NY followed by burial at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
