Carmela Lucy Donadio, 86, an área resident for one year and formerly a 45 year resident of Mohegan Lake, died peacefully on January 14, 2026.

Born in the Bronx on March 24, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel and Victoria (DiPaola) Paolicelli.

Carmela had worked as a medical secretary before dedicating her life to caring for her family. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother who cherished her grandchildren.

Carmela was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Yorktown Ward. She served as a Temple Worker in the Manhattan Temple. She enjoyed traveling, listening to music, dancing and flowers.

On April 5, 1970 at Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx, Carmela married the love of her life, Louis Donadio, who predeceased her on June 3, 2022. She is survived by her children, Peter Donadio, and Victoria Bendetti and her husband, Daniel; her grandchildren, Jordan, Mason, Marissa, Ashlyn, Nathaniel and Matthew; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her siblings, Lena Zillante, Mary Franzese, Rita Paolicelli and Lucy Paolicelli.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 5-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 10am at the funeral home followed by entombment in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made in Carmela's name to the American Heart Association.
