Obituary

Carol A. Enson, 88, entered into eternal rest on February 16, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born on June 24, 1936 in Mount Vernon, NY. She was the daughter of the late Ethel and Gabriel Mellis and sister of the late Janet Marinaccio.

Carol was raised in Beacon, NY and graduated from Mount Saint Mary High School. After working at IBM she retired and moved to Long Beach Island which she always referred to as her happy place. Her true happiness was found in the many memories made with her kids, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. This is what brought her back to the Hudson Valley.

She is survived by her daughter Robin Thomas (Wayne) of West Haven, CT, daughter Lisa Pray (Bill) of Hopewell Junction, NY, son Gary Raymond (Eugenia) of Palm Bay, FL and her step-daughter Anne (Jim) Sklenar of Beacon, NY.

She was adored by her loving grandchildren, Heather (Michael) Barrett, Matthew Sklenar, Christopher Sklenar, Vincent Raymond, Lyza (William) Epperly, Courtney (Chris) Schettino, William (Melissa) Pray, Brooke Raymond, and Nicolette Raymond.

She cherished her beautiful great-grandchildren, Kensington Barrett, Nicholas Sklenar, Dylan Sklenar, Autumn Barrett, Schuylar Epperly, Blake Barrett, Bryson Pray, Zane Epperly, Vivian Schettino, Anastasia Epperly, Frankie Schettino, and Tristan Raymond.

She also was loved by her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many family friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Michael Enson, her former husband and friend Frank Raymond, son Mark Raymond, grandson Joshua Raymond, granddaughter Emely Raymond, and great-granddaughter, Ariella Grace Schettino.

Carol was best known as a loving mom, Grandma and "Gigi". Her favorite times were gathering with family and enjoying fun memories at the beach. She enjoyed flipping through magazines, doing crossword puzzles and watching game shows. She loved her morning coffee and her glass of wine or two with snacks in the afternoon. She loved being outside and getting together for backyard barbecues. Her family was truly her heart and soul! She had a strong faith and reminded us that God is good... all the time. Although she will be missed, she remains in our hearts forever.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 20th from 4 - 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY.
