Carol Jean Martin, a Dutchess County resident since 2000, formerly of Brewster and Yonkers, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco. She was 83.

Daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Gunston Foerst, she was born in the Bronx on September 21, 1939. On July 11, 1959, she married Walter G. Martin. Carol was predeceased by her husband on December 21, 1999.

She enjoyed gardening and always had a place in her heart for pets and animals. She was an avid reader who especially enjoyed bible study and Christian publications. Carol attended Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill and formerly attended Faith Assembly of God in Poughkeepsie.

Survivors include her daughter, Victoria S. Kidd & her husband Christopher of Wappingers Falls; her daughter, Stephanie C. Martin of Beacon; her grandchildren, Emily C. Kidd, Ian A. Kidd, and Aidan C. Kidd; as well as many other family members and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Carol was also predeceased by her sister, Florence Foerst.

Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, February 23 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 24 at the funeral home with Rev. John Young officiating. Interment will follow at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
