HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Carole A. Broder, 88, an area resident since 1983, died on April 17, 2026 at the Taconic at Hopewell surrounded by her family. She previously lived in Essex Junction, VT.

Born on October 8, 1937 in Johnstown, PA, Carole was the daughter of the late Merritt and Mary (Miller) Trexel. She had been employed for many years as a Medical Technologist at Putnam Hospital Center.

On November 14, 1959, she married Jules Irwin Broder who survives after 67 years of marriage. She is also survived by her son, David Broder and his wife Kathy; her daughter, Cheryl Hackett; her grandchildren, Joseph Hackett, Molly Broder, Zeb Broder, and Aaron Hackett; her sister, Joanne Morgan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Carole was also predeceased by her grandson, Zachary Hackett; and her brother, Chuck Trexel.

Memorial donations may be made in Carole's name to the Arbor Day Foundation.
