Carolin
Serino
July 24, 1953 – March 18, 2025
Carolin Clum Serino, a resident of Fishkill, formerly of Saugerties and Beacon, entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of March 18, 2025 at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center after a courageous battle following surgery to repair a brain aneurysm.
Born on July 24, 1953 in Kingston, NY, Carolin was the daughter of Franklin P. and F. Madeline Murphy Clum of Saugerties, NY.
Carolin graduated from Saugerties High School where during her junior and senior years she was part of a work study program at Beneficial Finance which led to her first career. She was the manager of banks in both Kingston and Beacon, NY. Carolin went on to have a very successful career at Boscobel House and Gardens in Garrison, NY, where she served as Business Manager and for some time as Acting Director.
Always believing in making a difference in the community, Carolin spent time as a member of the Kiwanis Club of Beacon and the Beacon Housing Authority. She also sat on the Board of her HOA at Regency Fishkill and the Board of Locust Grove Estate. In addition, Carolin spent time volunteering for hospice, which was dear to her heart.
She is survived by her father; partner David Winograd and his children Jessica Winograd (Ben Fried), Eli Winograd (Lark Kidder), Rachel Winograd (Frank O'Leary) and his grandchild Igor Winograd; step-children Steven Serino, who was her best friend, Nancy Longenberger, and Rena Serino (Robert); her grandchildren Taylor Longenberger (Lauren Ronge), Hunter Pedian (Robert), Brandon Longenberger (Amanda Markley) and Mason Longenberger; her great grandchildren Avery, Isla, and Hazel Longenberger; her sister Christine Updyke (John); her nieces and nephews Michelle Herbst (Jeff), Patrick Seither (Rachel) and David Seither (Julie); her great nieces and nephews Kelsey and Sean Herbst, Brynn, Hadley, and Weston Seither, and Grace and Molly Seither. She is also survived by in-laws Mary Williams, Claire Serino, Fred Seither (Pam) and numerous Murphy and Clum cousins and friends too numerous to mention, with the exception of her "sister/cousin" Paula O'Bryon Kordich.
Carolin was predeceased by her mother and her husband Carmine A. Serino, Jr, of 34 years and his siblings and in-laws Giriaco Serino, Emily Forbes, Rose Camp (Bruce) , Michael Serino, Lucia Serino, Charles Williams and Joan Serino and her step son-in-law Richard Longenberger.
Carolin enjoyed a very full life with many adventures. Two of her favorites were going to the theater in NYC and traveling. She was fortunate to have traveled the world with Carmine and David and was very proud to have visited every state in the United States, all seven continents and countless countries. "I haven't been everywhere, but it's on my list!"
Carolin was a registered organ/tissue donor. Her last generous gift was to donate her corneas and she would ask that you consider becoming an organ/tissue donor.
Memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday March 22, 2025 from 1-4 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, 1089 Main Street, Fishkill, NY.
It was Carolin's wish, that in lieu of flowers or plants, that donations be made to Regional Food Bank (Northeastern) https://regionalfoodbank.net/ Regional Food Bank, 965 Albany-Shaker Rd., Latham, NY 12110.
Rest in peace Carolin - Daughter, Sister, Grandma, GG, Auntie, Niece, Cousin, Friend.
