Carolyn M. Papae, 73, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1980, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at home. She previously lived in Fishkill, Wappingers Falls, and Bayside.
Born in Jamaica, Queens on April 11, 1941, she was raised in Hollis by her parents, Herbert and Adelaide (Jacobs) Arons who have predeceased her. On September 9, 1961 at St. Ann's Church in Flushing, she married Donald Papae who survives at home.
Carolyn had worked in the accounts payable department for the Bank of New York in Newburgh until her retirement 25 years ago.
In addition to her husband of 53 years, Carolyn is survived by her children, Marie Zeigler and her husband Gary of Bloomingburg and Kenneth Papae of Lagrange; her grandchildren, Amanda Quesada of Tampa, FL and Christina Rinaldi of Bloomingburg; her great-grandchildren, Andrew and Jillian; her sister, Miriam Edwins and her husband Robert; her brother, Stephen Arons and his wife Susan; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2 – 5 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1400 Route 52, Fishkill followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
